"Educate a woman – Educate the world!"

WNN, the Women News Network, lives and dies by this slogan which is attached on their "about us" page. With one sentence, this organization is able to encompass a mission that is seldom seen in news media.

This organization goes farther than the cliché of "for women, by women," WNN founder Lys Anzia, who has a background as a humanitarian reporter, has spent her life looking to get stories of the voiceless out to the world. Lys works as radio producer for Women’s International News Gathering Service and is director for Women News Network Global Video Library. She has dedicated this online publication and all of her work to telling the hard stories on women that are rarely talked about.

In this online blog, mostly female journalist report on news stories about women all around the world. In a day and age where women aren't the majority in media creation, we are exposed to a medium where women are able to be the voice of other women. World issues from the UN campaign to save 16 million mothers from the risks of childbearing to an Indigenous Lakota women weathering harsh weather are stories that are covered in this blog.

As media consumers, women attribute to 51% of the population, so it is really important that there are mediums to represent them fully. The companies test of success can be seen in its Tweet-streams that update every 20 seconds; in this new age media world, this blog remains current and fresh and ever expanding for the growing population. "On December 16, 2008, WNN was honored with an Every Human Has Rights Media Award." For the last 4 years this blog has been reaching out to people all over the world.
